Employees who are on unpaid leave can apply for RM600 from PERKESO!

What is ERP?

ERP stands for Employee Retention Programme (Program Pengekalan Pekerjaan). It is an immediate monthly financial assistance of RM600 to employees who are on unpaid leave since 1st of March due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

The Social Security Organization (SOCSO) announced that employees who are on unpaid leave can apply for RM600 assistance from their employers starting March 20.

The monthly assistance for the Employment Retention Programme (ERP) of RM600 includes employees who have been on unpaid leave only after 1st of March, and whose monthly salary is RM4,000 or less.

Requirements for the application of RM600 from PERKESO (SOCSO)

Employees who pay Employment Insurance Scheme (EIS) members;
Employees who have taken unpaid leave (minimum 30 days) since March 1st of March; Each employee is entitled to receive RM600 monthly from PERKESO up to 6 months;
Employees with a monthly salary of RM4000 and below; Forced to take unpaid leave due to the outbreak;
The employer is obligated to apply on behalf of the employee;
The employer transfers RM600 directly to the employee’s bank account;
Employees that are employed in the private sector (retirees, civil servants, foreign employees and self-employed persons do not meet the requirement);

How to apply for the Employment Retention Programme (ERP)?

The employer is obligated to apply on behalf of the employee
Complete the ‘Borang Permohoanan ERP C-19’ form
The employer is obligated to attach a notice of unpaid leave
The employer must remit the financial assistance of RM 600 to the employee within 7 days after receiving the payment.
