community program, EmpowHER which aims to empower professional women in career advancement. - EmpowHER aims to empower 1,000 women executives in upskilling and reskilling, bridging the skill gap and increasing employability.
Kuala Lumpur, 26 March 2024 – In celebration of International Women’s Day, Agensi Pekerjaan JEV Management and Job Majestic launched a groundbreaking program called EmpowHER, supported by the Human Resources Development Corporation (HRD Corp) on 16 March 2024 at the sponsored venue by Mystartr, Dream Factory Creative Centre (GMBB KL).
Aligned with government initiatives aimed at empowering women in the workplace under the Malaysia Madani theme, “Elevating women to hold at least 30% of decision-making roles,” the Vice President of HRD Corp (Human Resource Development Corporation), Nur Sakinah Ramli said, “Providing constant training equipped women with the tools they need to navigate an ever-evolving professional landscape”, which in line with the same vision with EmpowHER’s in revolutionizing the professional working women landscape. EmpowHER has been overwhelmed by the incredible support received from various industries, including health screening, healthy snacks, supplements, and many more, in making the event both memorable and meaningful.
With a team of more than 20 years of recruitment experience, EmpowHER aims to promote an ongoing initiative to empower and equip 1,000 professional women executives with a forward-thinking mindset and the most in-demand skill sets to shake the status quo.

EmpowHER delved deeply into reskilling and upskilling professional women executives with the most highly demanded skill sets provided by seasoned HRD-certified trainers. This initiative enables them to bridge the skill gap, stay competitive, and enhance their career prospects. Founder & CEO of JEV Management and Job Majestic Jess Low shared, “According to Grant Thornton’s 2023 International Business Report (IBR), only 40% of senior management positions in Malaysia are held by women. This report reveals the significant gap between Malaysian women and men.’
More than 80 participants participated in the first EmpowHER, comprising 16% of professional men executives who held the same goal on uplifting the workforces’ quality. The event saw the participation of female entrepreneurs, top management leader and seasoned HR professionals who share the same vision of EmpowHER.

1. “From Zero to SHERO, Be Your Own Legacy” Women Panel Discussion:
The panellists shared the challenges they faced and the sacrifices they made to reach where they are today. They also offered advices on how to navigate through challenges, especially at the beginning of their entrepreneurial journey. The panellists were DoubleWoot Founder Helen Tan, Colony Workspace Co-founder Audrey Ooi, Kintry. Co-founder Michelle Chai, PichaEats Co-founder Lim Yuet Kim, moderated by Wunderbath Founder Evelyn Marieta.

2. Up-to-date masterclasses on the job market trends:
Led by industry experts respectively from Job Majestic Founder & CEO, Jess Low who highlighted the importance and action plan for keeping oneself competitive and adaptive in the constantly changing digital world through lifelong learning. Ai Nusantara Ai Trainer Chee Ann provided guidance on utilizing AI to promote work efficiency and JEV Talent Development, Head of Talent Development, Meng guided participants on the ‘Why’ and ‘How-to’ of self-discovery to maximize one’s potential and unlock higher capabilities.
3. Networking and Take Home Prizes:
Refreshments from O’Briens and Marrybrown were served during the networking session, and attendees were entitled to a lucky draw with prizes worth up to RM 30,000 from the main sponsor of the initiative, agnès b.
Jess Low sees EmpowHER as more than just a one-off event. “We aspire to establish a community where women empower women. With that being said, we will be equipping 1,000 professional working women with a series of masterclasses, including entrepreneurial thinking, and using AI to boost work efficiency,” she said.
