FutureFit Online Career Coaching : BREAK YOUR STAGNANT LIFE!

On the 15th of May 2024, JEV Management and Job Majestic organized a FutureFit online career coaching session titled “Break Your Stagnant Life” via Zoom. This first-ever virtual event was a great success, with participants actively engaging throughout the session. FutureFit Online Career Coaching – 15th of May 2024

Jess, Founder of Job Majestic and JEV Management, began the session with a brief introduction to JEV Management and Job Majestic, followed by an explanation of how FutureFit was created. Jess briefly discussed the purpose of this career coaching initiative, which is to empower and upskill Malaysian talent. Later, we delved deeper into how to break your stagnant life with Meng, Director of Talent Development at JEV Management, and Stephanie, a Professional Trainer.

3 E’s in FutureFit: 3 Different Parts of a Career

Trainer Meng mentioned that aside from just obtaining certificates, employability skills such as networking are also important, and that is how FutureFit started. The 3E’s represent different parts of one’s career: employability, where one graduates and searches for job opportunities; enterprise, where one chooses to work in either a small or large company; and entrepreneurship, where at some point one may want to become an entrepreneur, though some may pursue it to reduce their unemployability rate.

• Employability Focus : Get many technical and soft skills to be attractive to employers.
  
• Enterprise Focus : Take charge with leadership and business development.
• Entrepreneurship Focus : Run your own business. It needs skills, risk-taking, new ideas, and resilience.

FutureFit workshops focus on skills development, future-proofing, empowerment, advocacy, and resilience in people. These are the main points that we aim to train and coach in the workshops.

Gamification Workshops

To make coaching and learning more engaging, our coaches, Meng and Stephanie, have designed their own board games. Using gamification, participants are encouraged to think critically and engage in physical activities through various themed game elements. This approach enhances soft and hard skills, potentially aiding workforce development.

Digitized World

The session discussed how everything went digital very quickly during the pandemic. Businesses had to switch to digital to survive because the old-fashioned ways didn’t work anymore with all the lockdowns. Now, after the pandemic, AI (Artificial Intelligence) is starting to change a lot of industries. For example, Meng mentioned how AI might make physical coaches unnecessary. With AI improving, you might be able to ask it anything you want, just like that, so you won’t need a physical coach anymore. 

They discussed why it’s important for people to learn new skills to stay relevant and strong in today’s world. But they also stressed the importance of not forgetting who you are. When people can recognize your unique traits or skills, they’ll think of you when those skills are needed to solve a problem. This helps you stand out and stay important, highlighting why it’s crucial to keep learning new things in today’s changing world.
