With over 50 years of history with Mercedes-Benz, Hap Seng Star has established a foothold as one of the leading Mercedes-Benz dealers. Its name is now synonymous with Mercedes-Benz in Malaysia.

As one of the few authorised dealers for Mercedes-Benz vehicles that include logging trucks, general-purpose trucks, buses, passenger vehicles and spare parts in Malaysia, Hap Seng Star’s relationship with the Mercedes-Benz brand started in 1969 in Sabah under Hap Seng Auto Sdn Bhd.

It expanded to Peninsular Malaysia in 2004, with a dealership from Mercedes-Benz, making it the third Mercedes-Benz authorised dealer in the Klang valley and the 13th in Malaysia. In 2010, Hap Seng Star Sdn Bhd took over Hap Seng Auto Sdn Bhd's role as the sole authorized dealer of Mercedes-Benz and Mitsubishi FUSO in East Malaysia.

In line with its expansion programme, Hap Seng Star invested in more new outlets in the country. It launched its first Mercedes-Benz City Service in the country on 13 May 2016. Situated on Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah (formerly known as Jalan Ipoh), this Mercedes-Benz City Service is the most centrally located full-fledged 3S facility situated Kuala Lumpur. Its Balakong Autohaus, which started its operations in November 2013, is the biggest full-fledged Mercedes-Benz dealership in Malaysia, with a floor space of 17,189 sq. metres.

Hap Seng Star also upgraded its operations at the Kinrara Autohaus by including a new sales facility. This expansion was completed in the first quarter of 2014. Hap Seng Star has a network strength of twelve Mercedes-Benz passenger car dealerships strategically located across the country – seven in the Klang Valley and one each in Iskandar (Johor), Melaka, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Miri. Hap Seng Star is also the owner of the largest Mercedes-Benz certified pre-owned centre in Malaysia, located in Kinrara Industrial Park, Puchong. Alongside this, Hap Seng Star also owns another pre-owned centre in Balakong.
