Job Description
- Safely operate and drive lorries to transport goods and materials to various destinations according to schedule and delivery routes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels, and report any mechanical issues or defects.
- Load and unload cargo securely and efficiently, ensuring that goods are properly secured to prevent damage during transit.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery details, completing all necessary paperwork and electronic records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on delivery status and address any issues that may arise.
- Provide excellent customer service by being punctual, courteous, and professional during deliveries and interactions.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance and cleaning to ensure the lorry remains in good working condition.
- Navigate using GPS devices and maps, adapting routes as necessary due to traffic or unforeseen circumstances.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or violations immediately to the supervisor and follow established procedures for reporting.
Job Requirements
- Valid GDL driving license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a Lorry Driver or in a similar role, preferably with experience in transporting goods within Malaysia.
- Familiarity with traffic laws, road regulations, and safety procedures in Malaysia.
- Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices for loading, securing, and unloading cargo.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin to interact with dispatchers, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, to meet delivery schedules.
- Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic, with a commitment to punctuality and job completion.
